We are not necessarily "fans" of the strip therefore booked this "sister station" to the Red Rock Resort and Casino (which also is fabulous) just to see what it may be like. It was a VERY pleasant surprise when associated with the price!!! Great staff, great rooms, great pool, great food and great entertainment (gamblng, movies, etc.). It was a city within itself and we found ourselves very relaxed and thankful for finding this hotel! We will defintely be booking here on our return trips!

We had read many reviews about the casino having a strong scent of cigarette. We booked here anyway since it was the closest hotel to the funeral we were attending. We were expecting an old, run down, smokey hotel and casino. We were very surprised to find out that although the casino smelled of cigarette closer to the main lobby and bar area, it did not smell bad in the hallways, rooms, or eating areas. The casino is very clean, modern and the rooms are very comfortable. The staff is pleasant and courteous. We are still complementing this hotel and recommending it to friends traveling off the strip.

Everything about this room was nice except that there was no coffee maker in the room. I had to drag my tired torso down to stand in line for my morning coffee. When I go on vacation, part of my relaxation is resting in my room watching tv or reading with my coffee. $* for room service but that's too much for my morning coffee. It is a deal breaker for me and so I won't stay here again.

First time staying at Sunset Station for a 3-night weekend stay at end of Sept. Sunset Station is in Henderson, a ways away from the Strip, but the hotel is surrounded by shopping malls and eating places if you want a change of pace from the casino scene. Was a little surprised by the nice room, which is comparable to other Station Casinos. No problems at all with Airport noise or neighbors, even the elevators seemed fast. There's a branch of Carrows for breakfast and late meals, as well as a Starbucks and Food Court, along with the buffet and restaurants. A few tips: the elevators to the rooms are located down a long corridor from the Registration desk. But once you find your room, use the side doors and the parking lot located near the room tower to park, which makes it easy in, easy out. For Hooters fans, there is a branch of the restaurant located in the Sunset Station; you don't need to drive to the Tropicana Road location to get your fix of hot wings. Third, the Sportsbook is surprisingly nice, with plenty of seating and screens to watch the games. My only complaint about the whole stay was the lingering cigarette smoke inn the Casino area. The casino has lower ceilings than the new ones on the strip, and the filtration system isn't the same as what you'll find at Bellagio, Mandalay, etc. If you are sensitive to smoke, look elsewhere. Or, my compromise is a bottle of Febreeze and a warm iron aft the end of the day.
