Not once but twice during the night of our stay, we were awakened by the alarm in our room going off. This was a schrill wine that lasted for at least 10 minutes. We just got to sleep and it happened again and it lasted at least the same amount of time. This time I called the front desk and was informed that the problem effected the entire hotel. Great, everyone is inconvenienced but that was all. About an hour after this, we are awakened but a worker in the hall talking on a 2 way radio which was loud. My husband complained about the problem and they took $* off the bill. I'm really disapointed in the Santa Fe. They should have comped us the room. I'm NEVER staying there again. I'm the paying customer and this was their problem. Don't forget, the customer comes first.

I just finished my stay at the Santa Fe and while some things worked the majority did not. The cleaners were great, they did a wonderful job and would try to clean in the morning or evening depending on our schedule. Dining left a little to be desired...the buffet is okay but nothing amazing (out of all restraunts eat at Cabo ...probably the best option they had) The 24hr cafe Coco's was hit and miss..go late at night (round 1am) as the staff and cooks are better...during the day the food was a greasy mess but at night it was like eating at a completely different place. As for the rooms the walls are PAPER THIN, we could hear every word of conversations in the next room as well as when they opened and closed every door. We could also easily hear into people's rooms just by walking past in the hallway to get to the elevator. DO NOT stay here if you like privacy because unless you talk as quiet as a mouse you won't get it. The shower pressure was terrible but probably because the plumbing in our room seemed broken (the tap wasn't even attached to the wall) and the sink had a huge crack in it. We also had the fun of being woken up at 10am because of a fire drill, we were not warned of a pending test and it stayed on for 5 minutes before it was shut off. As for entertainment this is something that they do well, a nice country dance hall, movies and bowling/arcade. Overall the little things piled up to make this one hotel I will never stay at again.

The hotel amenities were as expected, though we didn't have a coffee pot in our room and the pool was extremely difficult to get to. The room itself was clean and updated. Once we got on the elevator to leave our room to go into the hotel/casino, the smoke was permeating everything. I know casino's are full of smoke but many seem to have a more limited space for smokers or they do a better job of ventilating it. With a bit of asthma, I had trouble staying in the casino for long and certainly didn't want to eat a meal there. All in all, a good value especially if you smoke or don't mind smoke.
