Under construction
03/03/2009I would advise customers that the hotel is under construction rather that having to find out the hard way. customers should have the option of staying or not.

The hotel was fine. The staff were of great assistance most of the time. We were a little disappointed at the hotel for not letting us know that the pool was closed for the season and that was construction going on. Afterall we paid extra for a pool view room, which we were awakened every morning by contrustion noises. Also of the four days that we stays there we had three fire alarms and at the wee hours and other times. (Very inconvenient). There were no inside maps for the hotel itself so we had to spend some time searching for everything.

to start, they hold $150/day for incidentals on your credit card. $7/day resort fee for absolutely nothing! $14/day for 24 hr internet access. My tv didn't even work, and they didn't send anyone up to fix it. My view was of a torn to pieces pool area where construction occurs from around 5 am to late evening! The parking is pathetic, and the casino itself is a joke. I hope to never have to go into this place again. The front desk was not helpful, and they did not help with anything whatsoever. I've come to vegas often, and the "strip" hotels are sooooo much better. Do yourself a favor, and even if it's a little bit more for a strip hotel...SPEND IT! You won't regret it!

Our room was beautiful with a view of the pool. The beds were plush and relaxing. I especially loved the deep tub. Nothing cures a night in Vegas like a a long bath. We had lunch at Pink Taco (loved the homemade tortillas). LOVED Wasted Space. The drinks were great and the band was amazing!

First and last time staying here. Smokiest casino I've been into in years. Even though we had a non-smoking room up on 10th floor, smoke still permeated our room. Pool closed, $7/night ""resort"" fee for nothing, Construction very close, so we were awoken at 4:45AM with Beep, Beep, Beep of construction equipment, and the foghorn blasting for crews I guess, and it didn't let up all day. They also charge $14/day for internet access, and there wasn't a chair at the desk in our room. At no other hotel have I had to call guest services so many times, actually I couldn't remember the last time I have ever called guest services prior to the visit to HR. But they were a 4 call stay! Arrived at 8;30am on a Monday morning, but they couldn't get a room ready for us until 2pm. Had requested King in reservation, but they told us they didn't have any available, so got 2 queens. I never saw more than 20 people downstairs in their casino, so they were obviously slow, and every cab driver talked about how slow it was in town. In past, you'd have to wait in a taxi line for a cab, but it's now reversed, there's long lines of cabs at every hotel, just waiting for a fare. They are so far from the strip, you'll pay $12+ for a cab to get anywhere, or to return to the HR. Only good thing, I did find there is a free shuttle from the HR Cafe to the MGM Grand every hour. They say their pool will be re-opened by summer, yea. Unlike most Vegas hotels, they have no security on room elevator access. Next time, I'm staying back on the strip where the real hotels and casinos are.
